PACE Care Team

InnovAge New Mexico PACE - Albuquerque

Heather Edwards

Center Director

I have always enjoyed seniors and the wisdom they have to share. Being the primary caregiver for both of my elderly parents gives me a great appreciation for the needs and sometimes struggles of seniors and their caregivers. Being part of the InnovAge team allows me the opportunity to utilize my professional knowledge along with my own personal experiences to make a positive impact in the lives of PACE participants and their families. Enabling seniors to maintain their independence, health, and quality of life is very rewarding.

Heather Edwards is the center director at InnovAge New Mexico PACE. Throughout her over 25 years of experience in both private practice and hospital systems she has held a range of positions including those in direct patient care, training, administration, and operations.

Most recently Heather was part of the operations management team with Baylor Scott and White Healthcare in Dallas, Texas, where she worked with primary care and urgent departments. During this time, she received the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, which is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers. She has worked with all age ranges during her career, however the senior community is where Heather’s passion and heart lies.

Heather received her bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management from Western Governors University in Austin, Texas, and is currently working on her master’s in Business Administration, Healthcare Management.

Heather is married with one son, three dogs, and enjoys arts and crafts, yoga, board games, and volunteering with local animal rescue organizations.
