I am passionate about serving older adults and helping them live independently.

Dawn joined InnovAge in 2017 as center director of the Denver PACE center. Previously, she spent over 15 years in leadership positions for a variety of senior living and healthcare facilities. Most recently, she spent five years as executive director at Five Star Senior Living’s Cherrelyn Healthcare Center in Littleton, Colo. Dawn has a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from Denver Technical College and is a licensed nursing home administrator in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

Regional Medical Officer – Central and Western Regions

My father always said, "It takes courage to age." I enjoy working with the interdisciplinary team at InnovAge, and courageous seniors, to keep our worlds large, and our time meaningful.

Dr. Strange earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, and is a diplomate with the American Board of Family Practice. A Colorado native, she has spent her career in private practice and residency faculty positions, teaching the next generation of family physicians in Pueblo. In 2015, the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors gave her the Bronze Program Director Award. Under her leadership, Southern Colorado Family Medicine in 2012 and 2015 received NCQA Level 3 recognition for providing patient-centered medical care. Dr. Strange’s husband is also a family practitioner and they have three children. She enjoys volunteering with her church, riding bicycles and hiking.

Medical Director

Aging and illness sometimes make it hard to experience quality living. My goal is to help ease those difficulties so patients can enjoy life and participate in things that make them happy.

Dr. Litvak enjoys coming to work to learn from others, including patients, and is proud to be part of a medical team devoted to helping older adults. Following in her father’s footsteps, Dr. Litvak pursued a career as a physician. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She has worked in hospitals and private practice, including St. Anthony Hospital Systems and their affiliated clinics. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Litvak grew up in Michigan and has lived in Colorado since 1968. She is happily married and has three sons. She enjoys many hobbies such as softball, gardening, bonsai, travel, reading and golf.

Nurse Practitioner

My father instilled in his children the value of hard work. He would always tell us, 'everything can be taken away from you, but with an education and knowledge, it can all be rebuilt.

Caroline Humbles moved from Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa to the United States in 2003, where she was able to pursue education as part of her “American dream.” Her passion is to care for others, especially the adult-gerontology population.

Before earning her Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Caroline worked as a certified nursing assistant, licensed practice nurse and registered nurse. In 2014, she earned her Master’s degree in nursing at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, with a specialty in adult gerontology primary care.

Caroline’s family is her world. She has two children and enjoys watching movies, cooking and visiting new places as time allows.

I believe in creating a partnership with my participants.

Dr. Kimball is a board certified wound management specialist physician with additional qualifications in undersea and hyperbaric medicine, vascular medicine, geriatrics and surgery. She has a passionate focus on being a key opinion leader in the wound care industry and introducing innovative human designs that seek to improve the quality and delivery of care to patients.
Dr. Kimball received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School, completed her general surgery residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and completed vascular surgery research at the University of Utah. Dr. Kimball's primary professional goal is to build a thriving, self-sustainable wound management practice.
Dr. Kimball has two children, a son and a daughter.

I enjoy talking with my patients and finding out about their lives and what they did for a living. They tell me some very interesting things!

Dr. Bottenbley has a way of making patients relax when providing dental care at the PACE center.

He attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), and completed his Oral Surgery internship at the University Hospital in Aachen, Germany where he had to do “business as usual” in the German language. He completed his residency in General Practice at the Dept. of Dentistry, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, and another residency in Oral an ad Maxillofacial Surgery at Bellevue Hospital, New York University training program. He taught oral surgery at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and held a fellowship at New York University College of Dentistry.

He enjoys fly fishing and hunting waterfowl and upland game. His greatest accomplishments are his “successful marriage to my wonderful wife, and a son I am very proud of.”

Primary Care Doctor

Great primary care is about creating a partnership between a patient and their care team. InnovAge puts the patient’s goals and individualism first.

Dr. Johnson is board certified in internal medicine. He earned his medical degree at Villanova University and Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency training at University of Colorado with his primary clinic at Denver Health Westside. Dr. Johnson served an additional year as the chief resident in quality and patient safety.

In addition to working for InnovAge, Dr. Johnson is the founder and medical director for the DAWN Clinic (Dedicated to Aurora’s Wellness and Needs). He also serves as the director of community health for Senator Rhonda Fields of Aurora.

Dr. Johnson loves to ski, hike, play games, watch the Broncos and listen to live music.

Nurse Practitioner

I love working for PACE because I get to know my participants on a personal level. I enjoy listening to their life stories and discovering what makes them unique.

Sarah Hicks is board certified in geriatrics. She earned her nursing degree at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Prior to joining InnovAge, Sarah worked in a hospital various care settings. Sarah has previous experience in a PACE program. She worked in a PACE center in Council Bluffs, Iowa and has been an advocate for the PACE model of care ever since.

Sarah is married and has two dogs. She was raised in Des Moines, Iowa and has lived in Nebraska and Colorado. She loves camping and is a Green Bay Packers fan. She looks forward to attending a Packers game each year with her husband and twin brother.

Primary Care Doctor

I like to team up with my patient, making sure he or she and the family understand why we are doing what we are doing. Working at InnovAge enables me to take the time to communicate and review the treatment plan with patients.

Dr. Kane likes working at InnovAge PACE because she can see her patients and follow them as their care needs and living situations progress—not the norm in primary care practice these days.
She brings extensive experience, including three years as Chief of Internal Medicine with the Kaiser Permanente East Clinic in Denver and nine years in nursing home outpatient and inpatient medicine. Dr. Kane earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) at University of Colorado Medical School and completed her residency in Internal Medicine and board certification in 1988. She is certified in Basic Life Support by the National Advanced Cardiac Life Support Testing Center. She considers her greatest professional success to be working as part of an integrated primary care team, one of the hallmarks of InnovAge PACE.
She is married with twin daughters and a dog, and works just three days a week so she can care for her elderly parents. She enjoys reading, drawing and skiing.

What I most enjoy about working with aging adults is their unique life stories.

Dr. Peterson enjoys caring for participants and being part of the dynamic, innovative organization of InnovAge. He enjoys the team spirit to accomplish the mission of the PACE program’s Interdisciplinary Team that creates, implements and monitors a care plan for each individual.
Dr. Peterson attended Northwestern University Medical School, where he received his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He is board certified in Family Practice. He worked in Korea at Yongsan Health Clinic, and served as a clinic physician at two U.S. Army bases (Fort Bragg and Fort Stewart).
He attended college and medical school in Illinois, and lived in North Carolina and Georgia before moving to Colorado where he enjoys an active lifestyle. He is married to a physician and has two children. He relishes spending time with his family, hiking, and playing tennis.
